Laurier’s Wind Orchestra serves helps its members deepen their musicianship and develop musical skills through the rehearsal and performance of quality repertoire. A comprehensive approach to musicianship, an environment that promotes trust and musical preparation are vital elements to the Wind Orchestra serving as a vehicle for the musical advancement of its musicians.
The ensemble performs a wind range of repertoire this is judiciously selected to challenge itself artistically, technically and intellectually, with the objective to advance the Wind Orchestra toward professional performances that utilize 21st century performance paradigms. The WLU Wind Orchestra gives four concerts plus special performances each year.
Laurier’s Wind Orchestra is comprised of students in Laurier’s prestigious Faculty of Music which offers undergraduate and graduate opportunities in music, music therapy, opera, chamber music and community music.
